The most used Tolerant Seedlings at present
CITRUS VOLKAMERIANA
-Very vigorous rootstock giving trees of great development.
-It is considered a tolerant rootstock.
-Good rootstock-graft affinity with lemons and oranges, although with some mandarins it may present incompatibility.
-Grows well in all types of soil, presents good resistance to lime and moderate to salinity. It is somewhat less sensitive to cold than C. Macrophylla.
-Early and abundant entry into production.
CITRUMELO 4475
-Very vigorous, trifoliate rootstock.
-Tolerant to all known viroses.
-Its main limitation is the marked sensitivity it presents to lime, which produces a very marked ferric chlorosis, hence its limited use.
-When installed in its environment, acid soils, it is an excellent rootstock, giving abundant and good fruits.
BITTER ORANGE
-Rootstock well known for its tradition in Spanish citriculture. At present, being sensitive to tristeza, it is used exclusively as a rootstock for lemon trees, with which its combination is tolerant to viroses.
-Grows well in all terrains, being more resistant to cold than the other lemon rootstocks.
-Entry into production and ripening period are later than in the previous rootstocks. It is also less productive.
