The most used Tolerant Seedlings at present

CITRANGES TROYER AND CARRIZO

-Since both C. Troyer and C. Carrizo have similar behaviours and characteristics, we will describe them together.
-Very vigorous rootstocks with trifoliate leaves.
-Tolerant to all known viroses, except Exocortis when grafted with infected buds.
-Good affinity with all known varieties, giving trees of great development.
-They grow well in all types of soil, except those with high active lime content or very saline ones.
-The production and quality they provide are excellent, far surpassing the traditional bitter orange, bringing forward ripening compared to it.

CLEOPATRA MANDARIN

-This is a rootstock of medium vigour.
-Tolerant to all known viroses.
-Perfect affinity with all varieties of oranges and mandarins.
-Grows very well in all soils except those that are very clayey or waterlogged. In these conditions it is sensitive to root asphyxia and gummosis.
-Due to its good tolerance, it is the most used rootstock in soils with problems of active lime or salinity.
-Growth during the first years is somewhat slow, becoming normal once rooted in the ground.
-The ripening period and yields are similar to those of the bitter orange, surpassing it in quality and giving fruits with very fine skin.

CITRUS MACROPHYLLA

-Currently only used for lemon trees, since with grapefruits, mandarins and orange it does not behave as tolerant.
-Very vigorous rootstock.
-Grafted with lemons, it is tolerant to all serious viroses, except Xyloporosis if grafted with infected buds.
-All regrowth of the rootstock must be removed, since through these it can be infected by the tristeza virus.
-Good affinity with all lemon varieties, giving trees of great development.
-Grows very well in all types of soil, even those with salinity and lime problems.
-It is a rootstock very sensitive to cold.
-Its most outstanding characteristics are: early entry into production, great productivity and precocity in ripening. In all of them it far surpasses the traditional bitter orange.
