Air Fresheners and Decorations with Lemon
['CENTREPIECE OF LEMONS AND BAY LEAVES'] - ['Instead of decorating the table with the usual flower centrepiece, place lemons on a wide, flat dish forming a perfect pyramid and put bay leaves and small sprigs of rosemary between the lemons. This is just a guide; if you have any other aromatic plant it also works.']
['LEMON AND ROSEMARY AROMATISER'] - ["This decoration gives off a very fresh aroma. Although originally they served to scent wardrobes to protect clothes from moths, in today's homes they can be piled on a plate so their smell spreads through the whole room, or hung from a hook, and their aroma becomes perceptible throughout the house. Stick cloves around 1 large lemon, placing them in orderly rows. When half the lemon is decorated with cloves, make more rows with short, strong sprigs of rosemary and continue decorating the rest with cloves. Tie a narrow ribbon around the lemon, securing it with a knot at the top. Tie another ribbon on the opposite side and knot it again at the top. Then make a bow with the ends of the ribbons to hang the aromatiser. If you use pretty ribbons it will look very dainty and be well secured between the cloves."]
['TEA LIGHTS WITH LEMONS'] - ['Cut the lemon in half and empty the contents, or use the ones you have used to make juice. Remove the metal cup from a tea light and place it on one of the shells. These original tea lights can be placed individually on small plates and surrounded by flowers and sprigs, or you can group them together as it is more eye-catching. We suggest that you place at least three decorative shells, with a small stone, leaves, sprigs and flowers, or with glass marbles and necklace beads.']
['AROMATIC POTPOURRI'] - ['Cut a large lemon in half and remove all the pulp, leaving only the peel. If necessary, cut the base of each of the two halves so they stand without falling. Decorate with aromatic cloves, fill with a potpourri of petals and place it on decorative plates.']
['LEMON CANDLE HOLDERS'] - ['This is a good way to make use of the lemon shell once the juice has been squeezed. It is ideal for small candles about 10 cm high and 12 mm in diameter. Cut 1 lemon in half, squeeze its juice and remove all the white pith to leave a smooth surface inside and a shell made only of peel. Place this with the cut side down, making sure it forms a dome. If it does not hold, cut again until it stands without problems. Use a sharp, pointed knife to trim the stalk end, making a hole a little smaller than the diameter of the candle. Put two flowers and some sprigs in the hole before pushing the candle in, then make a bow with a pretty ribbon around the base and place it on a saucer or in a suitable container. Use yellow or green candles, daisies, tiny narcissi and feathery leaves to decorate an Easter table. Red candles, ivy and red ribbons are ideal for Christmas. You can match the candles and flowers with the tones of your table.']
