Blood Oranges 10Kg

Box of blood oranges weighing 10 kilos. Their flavour is stronger and their aroma more intense than those of an ordinary orange. They have a distinctive tart flavour with some degree of sweetness, while their aroma includes a hint of raspberry. We can enjoy them from January to May, keeping perfectly on the tree. Their limonin content is notably very low, so the juice does not turn bitter.

What sets the blood orange apart from other oranges is undoubtedly its red colour, both in the skin and in the pulp. This red colour comes from water-soluble pigments called anthocyanins; for these anthocyanins to form, the night-time temperatures must be cold and the daytime ones warm.
